Last post we talked about how to recognize your self-limiting subconscious patterns. Now let’s get into how to change them. There are three main topics you can improve and when you do, they will propel you to success. They are:
1. The words you use
2. How you use your physiology
3. What you focus on
This week we will talk about the first strategy.
Words are extremely powerful. Some people don’t realize how they self-sabotage their goals by using words that contradict what they want. Wanting to be debt-free, a person will look at their checkbook and declare, “I am so broke!” Another good example is when you say, “I never have any luck.” This is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Doesn’t it make sense to say the things you want to have happen rather than saying the things you don’t want to have happen?
In the last post, we discovered your random thoughts and how they can help or hurt you. Now it is time to focus those thoughts on what you do want. Take a moment and write down three things you would like to accomplish. It doesn’t matter how small or large, just write them down.
Now you need to take what you have written and state it in a positive statement as though it has already happened. Here is an example:
“I am so happy and grateful now that I am at my ideal weight.”
You will trick your subconscious mind into believing this has already come to pass. Make copies of this statement and place it everywhere you tend to be. Examples are:
· On your bathroom mirror
· On your refrigerator
· In your dresser
· On your steering wheel
· On your computer
Every time you see your statement, say it to yourself and out loud, if you can. Make sure you are confident as you say this statement. That means eliminate weak words that lead to failure. The words to eliminate are:
In the next post, I will share strategies for using your physiology to help with achieving goals and creating a better life. Have a great week!!

- Try – Don’t “try.” Just do.
- If – This implies you won’t do it. Instead say “When.”
- But – This negates everything you said prior to this word. Change it to “and.”
- Hope – Don’t hope something will happen. Know it will.
